Maximize the style and functionality of your 2018-2023 S550 with a Ford Performance 50th Anniversary carbon fiber Cobra Jet Hood. Developed by Ford Performance for the 2018+ Cobra Jet Drag Program used in NHRA competition to reduce weight, improve airflow, and add under-hood clearance. The Cobra Jet hood is an aerodynamic component that can be used alone or in conjunction with other aerodynamic components to enhance a vehicle’s overall aerodynamic efficiency. The carbon fiber Cobra Jet hood seamlessly integrates with the vehicle to reduce front-end weight, enhance high-speed aerodynamics, and minimize drag for race-intended setups. Ford Performance’s Cobra Jet hood is designed to match the appearance and function of the original 50th Anniversary Cobra Jet race car.
Lightweight & Durable Construction
Featuring what Ford Performance calls their 3.5″ Power Dome cowl and the elimination of the factory vents, the Cobra Jet hood stands out in a crowd. Using strong yet lightweight materials to maintain high performance while minimizing weight. Built from pre-impregnated 3K carbon fiber sheets and cured in autoclave-formed aluminum billet molds, the hood combines lightweight performance with exceptional strength and rigidity. This 2×2 twill carbon fiber construction ensures consistent aerodynamic efficiency, even under heavy loads, while resisting heat and stress-related deformation. A UV-stable, gloss-clear gel coat is applied to all carbon fiber parts for an exceptional appearance and superior protection. The Ford Performance hood is mounted at the factory locations, with molded-in Aerocatch hood pin mounts that are required for installation. Due to its Off-Road/Race usage, removal of the wiper blades and any gas-assisted hood struts is required on your S550.
